Liberty's Story

Liberty Funerals has been serving the Sydney community since 1994. Liberty Funerals currently has a funeral home in Granville, and we arrange funeral services from Wollongong to Newcastle and across all of Sydney.

Our commitment is to provide the community with the highest standard of service that is based on a genuine compassion for each and every family.

Our funeral directors are proactive in their communities, helping with local and national fund-raising events, benevolent programs and donating their time to help good causes and charities.

As part of Liberty’s commitment to the community we hold a number of special events at pertinent times of the year, such as Easter, Anzac Day (a special service is held for the Armenian community) and Mother’s Day, helping to support families at these difficult times.

Through these activities and others, our team has raised thousands of dollars for charities and have helped and supported those not as fortunate. We also offer sponsorships to various groups within the community such as during Seniors Week and for the House With No Steps. These sponsorships assist in research or support worthwhile projects which benefit the whole community.

Liberty Funerals is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to discuss your funeral arrangement needs.

Liberty's heritage

Liberty Funerals has been caring for the Sydney communities and arranging services as far as Wollongong and Newcastle since 1994.

Liberty Funerals is the first funeral home in Australia to offer full traditional funeral services to families with Christian Middle Eastern backgrounds including Syrian Orthodox, Armenian, Coptic and Lebanese, as well as Anglo, Russian, Greek, Spanish, Indian and Chinese.

Liberty Funerals is currently managed by Lesina Haumono.

Through our strong relationship and experience with these communities we have gained a deep knowledge of each faith and recognise the importance of providing a service that meets each family’s particular needs.

Whether you seek a traditional burial, mausoleum entombment or cremation service, Liberty’s funeral directors are here to help you create a ceremony that is meaningful and affordable for you and your family.

We are committed to providing guidance and support every step of the way – through preplanning, burial or cremation and grief support.

We know the people in our community and they know us – we have been part of their lives for many years. This is why families return to us generation after generation because they know that we can give them the care and attention to detail that they deserve.

Complaints procedure

Liberty Funerals takes pride in providing the highest levels of service to the families that choose us but understand that, at times, you may feel there are issues that have not been resolved to your satisfaction.

To ensure the families we serve have the opportunity to make their feedback known, we have in place a complaints resolution procedure. Complaints can be made in person at Liberty Funerals, via the compliment and complaint links on this website below, or by filling in our customer survey which is sent approximately 21 days after the funeral service.

Once your feedback is received, you will be contacted by your funeral director who will respond to your feedback quickly and efficiently and will seek to find a resolution you are happy with.
